If you have been here within the past year, you know that we are an ever evolving shop, and that once more we have honed our focus. In many ways, our focus has shifted towards ‘hearth and home’, and being ‘green’. You will find many more of our handmade products (knitting, jewelry, note cards, wreaths), and those of our friends (handbags, candles, soap) and more, as well as a larger variety of vintage items, from furniture to home décor - and of course cool vintage Christmas. the 3/50 project

3 What 3 independently owned businesses would you miss if they disappeared?
Stop in. Say hello.
Pick up something that brings a smile.
Your purchases are what keeps those businesses around.

50 If half the employed population spent $50 each month in locally
owned independent businesses, it would
generate more than $42.6 billion in revenue.
Imagine the impact if ¾ of the population did that!

68 For every $100 spent in locally owned independent stores,
$68 returns to the community through taxes, payroll and other expenditures.
If you spend it in a national chain, only $43 stays here.
Spend it online and nothing comes home.

1 The number of people it takes to start the trend… YOU.

Pick 3. Spend 50. Save your local economy.

WOW!!! How exciting is this - November 10, 2009 - will go down in history... (Do you hear the serious announcer's voice???) I was on the front page with my 'Home' Ribbon Wreath in a selected "Holiday Gift Ideas" treasury. It was between about 8:40 and 9:05 pm. This rocks! I tried to load the entire page here - but I couldn't. I'll work on that...
