Ribbon Wreaths - The Original - by Bittersweet Design Studio

Spring time brings about a continuation of the lovely, glittery, sparkly line I started last fall - ©The Confection Collection. Thank you Virginia for coining that for me!
Fresh, modern yet soft, pretty, 'shabby', chic, however you choose to call them - Bittersweet Design Studio brings you the 'Original Ribbon Wreath'. Made in the traditonal way - with a twist! Also included (so far - you never know where my imagination will take me?!?!) are collage signs and 'another twist on the old fav - a 'sugar egg' - although not edible - it looks scrumptious enough to!
Also included here - a side line of my jewelry display boards - a book notes display board - you can use pushpins and/or tuck notes behind the securely fastened ribbons. This ribbon that looks like bookbinding tape is topped off with vintage buttons.
All designs and product lines are © and the intellectual property of Bittersweet Design Studio.

Hello Spring!

Good Morning! It is a lovely warm morning here in western Loudoun County and before I go out to hang up the sheets to dry I thought I should let you know about next week's open house.

FEELING LUCKY is the theme and - - ok - ok - - that's 'Feeling Lucky' in webdings...

The open house will be both Friday the 13th - ooohhhh - and Saturday the 14th from 12 noon to 5 pm both days. At checkout you will have the opportunity to pick a slip out of the Lucky Leprechaun Bowl to see what discount you get off your purchases - you may even win something!

We are ready for spring with all sorts of freshly made items and cool vintage finds. We hope you stop by to say HI! and spend some time with us! See you here! Liz and Virginia

And yet another line of Jewelry...

This past week has been spent doing lots of sneezing, coughing, and napping... Since I was relatively coherent for some of my waking hours I was at least productive with fleshing out my shipping profiles on etsy and artfire, and also got a few more items listed on ebay.

I also have used these evenings to create another line of jewelry - 'Sea and Sky - Compositions'. I have wanted to put this combination together for a while - oxidized and shiny sterling, stick pearls, coin pearls, freshwater pearls, and amazonite in different shapes. The earrings and bracelets are simple and symmetrical, but the necklaces 'wander' a bit - I treated these like compositons - instead of on a canvas - it would be on beading wire... what did I want to see next? - if it was a long necklace and could be doubled - what would line up (or lay) next to what? How would they layer together?

And off they go...

I knew, that once listed, the lamps would find happy homes. Sure 'nough - these babies were snapped up next - I shipped them to Brooklyn, NY yesterday. Happy landing!

Two Tea Bags and a Tea Cup

What a fun time we had yesterday - however - we usually do take the party wherever we go! My friend Patty, daughter Virginia, and I met at Aylesbury Tea Room in Leesburg, VA to celebrate Valentine's Day (one of our favs). The service was great and the food - everything was just yummy! We also did a little bit of shopping in the antiques area of the shop. We have decided this might be a good place to hold a monthly business meeting...hmmmm.

Acorn Jewels

I just love looking at these - don't you? Talk about eye candy - this is it!
Just before Christmas, my friend Patty gave me some glittered acorns that she had made - following the instrustions on the Martha Stewart Show. She had also shown them off to her book club members - some of whom happen to be customers at my shop. Sherry, had to have some - and so here they are. I sent them in to school with my daughter today - special delivery - A jeweled rainbow of acorns!
